Can Dogs Eat Chicken Feet Every Day?

The short answer is that we don't recommend dried chicken feet as a daily habit. Here's why, and what to do instead. This is general information, not veterinary advice.

Why not every day

  • Calories add up. Treats and chews should be about 10% or less of your dog's daily calories. A daily chew can use up that budget fast, especially for small dogs.
  • Variety and balance. Your dog's regular food is designed to be complete. Chews are extras.
  • Risk adds up too. Every chew with small bones carries a small chance of choking or stomach upset. The more often it happens, the more chances there are.
  • Hygiene. Dried chicken feet can carry bacteria such as Salmonella, and every time you handle them there's a small risk to your household.

A better rhythm

Offer it as an occasional chew, and follow the feeding guide for your dog's size on our product page. Ask your vet if you're unsure how often is right for your dog.

If your dog needs something to chew every day

  • Rotate safe toys that suit your dog's size and chewing style.
  • Use puzzle feeders and sniffing games.
  • Add exercise and play to use up energy.
